Austin Subsurface Modeling, Inc. (ASM) is dedicated to designing and building world-class gridding and modeling algorithms and software for the petroleum and earth sciences industries.

After more than two decades of developing industry standard gridding, surface modeling and cartographic algorithms and software for Zycor, Inc., Landmark Graphics Corporation and Halliburton, Steven Zoraster founded Austin Subsurface Modeling in Fall of 2004. Barbara Solomon joined shortly after the company’s founding to lend her marketing expertise to the enterprise. She was an executive at Zycor and Landmark where Steven and she were colleagues.

Currently we offer surface modeling algorithms that handle very large data sets in both Java and C#. One algorithm is minium curvature gridding which honors fault traces.

Our second algorithm does not honor faults, but does provide smooth surface modeling of any amount of data and almost unlimited ourput model size, constrained only by available disk space.
